These lovely studs were crafted from Pounamu found at Orepuki (gemstone beach) and set on sterling silver

I layer coloured glass on the blowtorch to sculpt the disc shape before cooling the bead slowly in my kiln overnight

Formed by gravity, I remove them from the flame just an instant before the glass begins to move. It's a wonderful process, and a labour of love.
