The scarab is set with beautiful plique Jour glass wings with vibrant blue enamel detailing. At the centre of the brooch sits a faience scarab set into an open backed frame that reveals a little carved scarab hieroglyphic on its back. There are a set of small import hallmarks on the clasp of the pin which can be seen in picture 8. The brooch was most likely designed by Otto
