I waited for a fresh layer of heavy snow to visit and photograph it

It took hours of preparation and planning to time the light right

and I was fortunate to have the vantage point to myself as I carefully captured the scene

Hickory Run State Park and the trail system that leads to this beautiful waterfall are home to a unique encounter for me - acres of lush rhododendron that blanket the forest and occasionally even provide a canopy over the trail
